Quels sont vos conseils de rodage ?

Réponse: Voici une flûte qui n'a pas besoin de rodage mais pour qu'elle mûrisse, il faut du temps.
Grenadille est un bois stable, donc mettre un peut de l'huile chaque semaine avant de jouer.
La flûte est fabriquer pour une professionnelle et a besoin d'être utiliser beaucoup !

Thank you very much for that wonderful instrument! I recieved the flute this afternoon and tried it just for a few minutes, and it feels wonderful and sounds very warm and "elegant". It's just as I thought it would be, besides from looking really beautiful.

In case of any questions concerning the flute I hope I may send you a mail every now and then. Again thank you for the beautiful instrument and the energy you put in it.

Die Flöte ist noch schöner, als ich erwartet habe! Es ist ein wundervolles Instrument, hinreißend anzusehen und anschmiegsam in den Händen. Es ist zwar für mich ein großer Umstieg von der modernen Böhm- auf die Barockflöte, aber ich fühle, dass deine Stanesby genau das ist, was ich brauche: Trotz meiner ersten Gehversuche auf der Traversflöte und keinerlei Erfahrung damit spüre ich die Wärme und Fülle des Tons und die gute Ansprache. Ich hoffe, bald würdig darauf spielen zu können! Vielen Dank für alles, die gute Beratung, den vorbildlichen Service, das edle Sachet, deine Aufnahmen der Leclair-Sonaten, die ich sehr liebgewonnen habe (hoffentlich findest Du ein Label!) und natürlich die traumhafte Flöte!

The flute has arrived safely, I picked it up on Friday. So far I think it is magnificent! I have played it only a short while every day - could you please give me some advice as to how I best take care of it in the beginning? I know that the instrument has to mature a while at first, but I am not sure as to how I do this the best way. Lots of long notes, perhaps? And what about oil? When and how often should I oil it in the beginning?

I like the sound very much, and also I think it is very well tuned (I mean that the notes which usually are very sharp or very flat are easy to play and I'm sure it is due to your work).

The Lot flute has arrived and has really amazed me. It is so open throughout the range that I keep surprising myself by sailing straight through bits from Bach Cantatas which are usually at the edge of my technical ability, and I'm tempted to start on Wilbert's versions of the cello suites. It's so nice to be able to relax more when figuration crosses between different registers because you just 'know' that the bass notes are going to speak effortlessly. Today, as a test, I got out all my (modern copies of) flutes and 'cycled' through them, trying hard to forget about which flute I was playing. There's a noticeable similarity between the Lot and my four-part Naust which isn't really surprising because I guess Lot's design grew out of Naust's. And they are the two most open sounding instruments of the five. But there's also a noticeable family resemblance between your Lot and the Rottenburgh you made, in that both of them 'sing' in a manner that makes legato playing very easy and is unlike all the other flutes. Notes run into each other effortlessly, whereas on the Naust each note is a 'statement'. This isn't a criticism of the Naust - it just speaks differently. My other two flutes are harder work, in different ways - a lignum vitae/ ivory Stanesby from around 1980 doesn't really work properly throughout the range, although it does sound very like an original Stanesby, and my ebony flute has a minute embouchure, which is very flexible and great if I practice on it everyday, but a tough prospect if I have to pick up a flute and play without much warning, as is unfortunately usual in university environments. So, the Lot has leaped to the top of the list - It just works - the tuning is easy and it has great dynamic range. Thank you very much. I hope we'll get to meet up again sometime soon. Even if it's in Greenwich in November.....

The Lot flute is arrived well and safely. I've played the flute a little today and more I played more I liked it.  It's well in tune and has a very amazing sound. Most of the T. Lot flutes have the little problem of the third finger of the left hand, that works a bit more than the usual because the bore is bit distant, but your copy is quite comfortable to play. So many, many thanks for this beautifull flute and we'll keep in touch.

Surely you can use my words for your feedback. In these days some friends, also traverso players, have played your flute and all liked it very much, it sounds and blends so nice with strings, keyboards and others wind instruments.

Je vous souhaite de tout mon coeur une excellente et heureuse année 2008. En tout cas j'ai été très heureux de faire votre connaissance en 2007, ne serait-ce que en échange de courriers électroniques et téléphoniques. Nous trouverons certainement l'occasion de nous rencontrer un jour. Tous les jours en travaillant cette belle flûte que vous m'avez offerte, je pense à vous, aujourd'hui je peux vous dire que je la maîtrise très bien et vous avez fait un magnifique travail. Depuis j'en ai essayé d'autres mais celle-la est vraiment superbe, le seul petit bémol c'est le noeud qui est très joli mais je l'aime avec ce beau noeud. En mai 2008 je suis invité à intervenir dans une programmation à l'opéra de Rouen et j'aimerais honorer cette flûte dans une intervention surprise!!! Merci encore mille fois, je vous appellerai très bientôt.
